Early Life

I grew up in Cottonwood, California, the oldest of three kids.  I was very involved in 4-H where I competed in sewing competitions and also raised sheep.  In high school I played volleyball and volunteered in elementary school classrooms reading books to kids.  I moved away for one year of college and returned to Redding where I have stayed since.

Education and Professional Experience

I graduated from Red Bluff High School in the year 2000.  I started my college education right here in Redding at Shasta College. I then moved to Chico and attended Butte College for one year.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Simpson University in 2004.  I then went on to complete my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and also earned a Masters of Arts Degree in Cross Cultural Education from National University in 2006.  During my teaching career, I taught at Alta Mesa and Boulder Creek teaching Kindergarten, 2nd Grade and 4th Grade.  I completed my Administrative Credential through the Shasta County Office of Education Leadership Academy, in 2021.  I have served as an assistant principal at Boulder Creek School and Mistletoe School.  I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as Principal at Lassen View.

Personal Life

I am married to a wonderfully supportive and caring husband, Johnny. We have two children who are both Enterprise Elementary School District Alumnists.  As a family we enjoy camping, playing games and spending time on the lake.  One of the things I love most is spending time with family and friends around a firepit with some s’mores.
