Weekend Message

Lassen View Families,

Monday, January 20th, is a school holiday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. School will resume on Tuesday, January 21st, on regular schedule with kindergarten through 3rd grades dismissing at 1:43 p.m. and 4th and 5th grades dismissing at 1:50 p.m.

We hope you've noticed our new addition to our parent pick-up procedures. Teachers are using walkie-talkies to help facilitate getting students to your cars more quickly. Simply share your student's name and grade level and they will radio for the student to meet you at your car. Thanks for supporting our dismissal procedures.

Girls and Boys basketball practice continues this week with girls practicing at 2:15 p.m. and boys at 3:30 p.m.

STEM Club continues with Session #1 on Tuesday and Session #2 on Wednesday. They meet from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in Room 17.

PTO is sponsoring a Family Movie Night this Friday, January 24th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This is a free event for the whole family. Food items can be purchased from the snack bar and will support our 4th grade class' Sacramento field trip.

The 4th grade classes are also selling hot cocoa and cookies on Fridays after school for $1 each. Thank you for supporting our student experiences.

January is also the time of year when we ask for your feedback. Please go to the Lassen View website: www.lassenview.eesd.net and complete the parent survey. This helps us as we plan goals for our school. An email link will also be sent to you.

Finally, on Wednesday, January 29th, we will host our annual Family Technology Night. 4th and 5th graders will be sharing the many technology programs we use to support our instructional curriculum. We will have a brief session on internet safety and you will receive log-in information for your student to connect to programs at home. Hot cocoa and cookies will be available. This is a free event.

Lassen View is helping students prepare for success in the 21st century.
